An eco-friendly escape in the Heart of the Cederberg
Cederberg Park is a getaway retreat located on the Kromrivier Farm approximately 250km north of Cape Town. Cederberg Park is the oldest tourist destination in the heart of the Cederberg and is renowned for its well-kept chalets and exclusive campsite.
Surrounded by fynbos and majestic orange rock formations, Cederberg Park is considered a popular base for hiking, mountaineering and exploring. Splash around in the crystal-clear mountain streams, hike through untouched natural landscapes, and immerse yourself in the peace and quiet of the Cederberg mountain range.
DIE SLEE
Die Slee, Afrikaans for The Sleigh, got its name from the cedarwood sleigh runner on display at the eatery. What looks like an ordinary wooden beam was a piece of 19th century Cederberg engineering – wooden sleighs were long used in the Cederberg as a means of transport, particularly along tracks that were impassable to ox-wagons.
Serving for many years as a doorsill in the old Kromrivier shed the sleigh runner now has its glory returned, being a display piece and the name for the eatery.
From our modest beginnings of serving a milkshake and a toasted sandwich to the far-out off-roading motorcyclist, Die Slee is now equipped with a fine kitchen which uses only the freshest ingredients to provide our guests with top-notch farm style cuisine and light meals.Join us for tea and cake of the day or enjoy a freshly ground cappuccino.
