Sanddrif Holiday Resort is situated on the farm Dwarsrivier, home of Cederberg Private Cellar, approximately 250 km north of Cape Town. The farm lies in the heart of the Cederberg Wilderness Area, which is well known for its spectacular rock formations, expansive vistas, rock art and fynbos.
Accommodation at Sanddrif consists of self-catering cottages and campsites with electricity points. Long before adventure sports became popular, the Nieuwoudt family started renovating dwellings on the farm to offer hikers and rock climbers a basic overnight stay during their expeditions in the mountains. Through the years Sanddrif has grown into a well-established and popular holiday destination for singles, couples, families and friends.
Activities for nature lovers and the adventurous include day hikes, mountain climbing, rock climbing, mountain biking, trail running, bird watching, stargazing and swimming in the tranquil Matjies River. The less active can relax in the crystal-clear waters of the Maalgat Pools, wander through the ancient Valley of the Red Gods, explore the fynbos-rich area, or take a short drive to view the beautiful San rock art. There is wine tasting at Cederberg Private Cellar and Cederberg Brewery’s ice-cold craft beers are on sale at the farm shop.
